The Next Step
Smoothing the edges
Take the next step. These one-hour classes combined with social dances will improve floor craft and reinforce steps and knowledge from your previous courses, providing you with a greater understanding of how movement is achieved and how to work with your partner.
Learn the art of guiding your partner around the room and how to confidently turn a corner when you need to. Classes of one hour each week continue to build students’ knowledge of leads and touch on the correct technical footwork to ensure a smooth movement for all.
By the end of this course, couples will dance with ease at parties and other social settings. Students can also decide if they would like to further continue lessons for either social or competitive goals.
Dances you’ll learn
The final weeks of tuition take students through some steps of ballroom dancing with the Waltz, Quickstep, Tango, Foxtrot and also Latin American dancing with the Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Samba, and Jive, ready to take to the floor at your next social dance.
Paying for your course
Classes are $15.00 per person per class. Classes can be paid weekly or as a bulk payment. We provide online payment services for the full upfront cost, and in-person payment services for EFT, Credit Card, and Cash.
Early Bird Discount
A 10% discount is available for students paying the full upfront course cost either online, or on the start date. This lowers the cost per class to $13.50.
"My confidence in moving has increased fantastically. Would recommend anyone to give Ballroom and Latin Dance a serious go."
Do I need a partner?
With the current restrictions, students are not required to have their own partners. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our courses have limited students – until restrictions are lifted by Queensland Health. Our courses are designed around individual learning, coupled with other students participating in the course.
Do I need to be vaccinated?
To comply with the current Government recommendations we ask that all of our students show proof of vaccination at their first class – until restrictions are lifted by Queensland Health. This is to ensure the safety of all students participating in the course as well as other people that also visit the venue.
Will I need prior experience?
Not at all! Our fun Beginner Course is a step by step introduction to dance and is designed for the absolute beginner. For our Intermediate Course, it is recommended to first complete our Beginner Course.
Can I join anytime?
Students are welcome to join in the first and second weeks. After the second week, it is recommended to wait until the next available course commencement.
What clothes do I need to wear?
It is a good idea to wear comfortable clothes which you can move in. Sleeved shirts for both men and ladies are recommended.
What shoes should I wear?
Joggers are not recommended after the first few lessons as they can cause you to stick to the dance floor. It is advised for both men and women to wear comfortable shoes, that allow freedom of movement. Low heeled shoes for the ladies, and comfortable shoes for the guys.
- No Thongs
- No Bare Feet
Do I need to bring anything special?
There is nothing special you need to bring on the night. You are welcome to bring your own drink bottle.
